Monetizing strategy for leading antibody generation platform

By | | No Comments

Need:

An antibody-platform company wanted to explore alternative business models as a means to generate additional revenue streams.

Assignment

MSC was brought in to analyze the various business model opportunities that the client’s platform enabled. Based on a SWOT analysis of the client’s asset portfolio, a number of business opportunities were identified. These were subsequently ranked based on how each would affect company valuation, short vs long-term cash flow, investments in R&D and M&S, staffing requirements and other parameters. Spinouts, licensing, collaboration and additional commercial paths were considered as potential vehicles to achieve the different visions. A number workshops then defined the best business strategy based on the client’s internal resources, the management’s vision and MSC’s analysis. This resulted in a decision-support material to help the client’s board allocate resources towards implementing the best monetizing strategy.

Need:

A privately held biologics company in preclinical development stage company needed to build an investment case and package its data to attract VC funding.

Assignment:

The company’s CEO and executive Chairman engaged MSC in creating an investment package comprising a non-confidential pitch deck, a comprehensive confidential company presentation and a detailed investment memo. Visual high-quality presentations, reports, fact sheets and memorandums were created to meet the executives’ needs for key meetings and conferences. Creation of the investment case required due diligence of the available data, IP, development plan, budget and target product profile. A detailed landscape was then designed around the unmet clinical need, patient segments, treatment algorithm, current treatments, dominating players, comparable M&A/licensing deals and an estimate of the TPP’s market potential. Delivered material was then used by the client in 1-on-1s, pitch presentations and on stage at an international event.
